A Review of 2016

Review of 2016
Well its been a busy year for me but limited time to craft so here's hoping I can have a more creative 2017. This months blog was to review the best of 2016 well my favourite this year have to be the little foxy friends bundle here is  a card we completed at our training using this collection.....its super cute.

But for me this year is all about the Christmas collection, loving the DSP and the Punch's and of course the stamp sets. But Stampin up is not just about the stamps, ink, paper etc its about the tools as well. I love the versatility of the envelop punch board therefore using this some wonderful DSP and the cute cookie stamp set have created some mini crackers ready for our Christmas table. These also include a mini bauble tag from the cracker punch board scraps

This is our last blog hop of the year but here is Nathan in the mist of creating 50 cards for some special parents at Christmas wearing his Christmas jumper.

Christmas Decorations

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas Decorations.

Welcome to our blog, don't you just love Christmas and this year we have been so spoilt with some absolutely fabulous Christmas stamps, punches and papers. Our blog theme this month is to show case some christmas decorations. But before I start I need to let you know that Ihave passed my University course but have signed up for my Masters..oh dear!
As I craft with Nathan and he loves Christmas I try to find crafts easy for him to do, he loves to stamp and is getting really good. Therefore he stamped out the reindeers and punched out the shape using the cookie punch and punched out the tag top to create a tag for the reindeer food.

The reindeer food is porridge oats and edible glitter in a test tube. Future tubes will be filled with a robin mix.

Our othr creation involved cutting strips of garden green card and creating some folds we made the Christmas tree that will hold some chocolate kisses....unfortunately I forgot to buy those so i have pretended but am sure yu get the idea. I will be making these and hanging on our tree.

.

We have the tearoom and children love to come and create cards etc but what goes down well is magic wands therefore I have created a reindeer wand which would look great puhed into the branches of the Christmas tree.

Nathan and I plan to have some creative time over the next few days as the shop needs to get ready for Christmas. We are hoping we will have more visitors following his spread in the Sheffied Star this week promoting #workdisabilty

Thanks

Boxes/Bags/Packaging

I really thought I would be organised for this blog hop and have really enjoyed researching some lovely box ideas. Craig is away this week with work and now that all my assignments have been submitted my evenings are my own.....although there is the distraction of an amazing seasonal catalogue. My evenings haven't been my own I have been bust getting middle son ready for his holiday in Majorca and will be sunning himself as you read this.

My first box design is an amazing 'twisted' box cased from a fellow stampin up member on Pinterest.
I will be honest this took a couple of attempts as I thought you had to be creative with the sealing of the box top and bottom. But no, all you do once it is sealed a gentle twist and reinforcing of the scoring folds the box twists on itself. Great for hiding a special little gift...this would compliment the jewellery we sell in the tearoom.

I really need to work on my images and presentation and lighting.

For these two boxes I have used Affectionately Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper
(A favourite of mine)

This is what you see when you open the box but a gentle twist opens it to reveal the gift inside.

I also found these cute little boxes that suit the cute little Foxy builder punch and the other is petite petals punch.

This is just a quick look at a card I made for Sam a fellow Jem and Nathans new carer, but also made the same for a friend having a difficult time...its not a box or packaging but I loved the 3D design that gives the illsuion it is a full jar.

Thank you for looking,

Tracy and Nathan

July blog hop animals.

Once again it is our Jems Blog Hop join me and the other jems as we share our animal inspired creations.

Last week we had our new catalogue update, wow what a catalogue and some fabulous makes by my fellow jems. I haven't actually ordered as yet as I have been so busy studying I didnt want to be distracted but now I have a  much longer list than I had orginally. We were also set a challenge to create some business tags below are a couple of my creations (Thank you Sam for lending me your stamps) I loved the frog stamp. This is from a Hostess special purchase called 'Love You Lots' and that I do and hope you do too.

Continuing the theme of the frog we have used the playful pals stamp set to create these equally loveable frog cards a thank you and congratulations card.

So this week unfortunately one of Nathans's carer's has handed in her notice so we have created her this 'Thank you' card for looking after him and assisting in setting up Nathans tearoom. But fortunately Sam ( a creative Jem) who works with Nathan in the tearoom creating cakes and cards has offered to have him full time.

My most exciting news is that my middle son Luke has completed his degree in Physiology and Pharmacology achieving a 2:1 so very proud of him, it has been very stressful and tough for him but his hard work has paid off. He now has to start applying for jobs although he is unsure of his direction but has some travelling to do first. This is his 'Congrats' card.

Thank you for looking at our makes please move on to the next blog.

New Catalogue Colors 2016 - 2018

Hi everyone thank you for stopping by, this is my second blog up with the lovely inspiring Jems.

Well last month I thought I was busy this month is not looking good....I love to craft with my son and on my own but I have an assignment waiting in the wings that needs completing. My reward when submitted is to indulge myself with some items from the new Catalogue...so hard to choose but hopefully I will be able to decide once the other lucky Jems who have purchased and created have shared their makes during this blog hop.

I work as a nurse and have set up Nathan's Craft & Tearoom to create a safe environment for my son who is severely sight impaired and has learning disabilities to work in. So this month he and his carer the very talented Sam (you will see for yourself as you follow the blog hop) have created our 2016 -2018 Colors cards to share.

Nathan is pictured here using the Balloon Bouquet Punch despite his visual difficulties he is able to use this very well on his own.

Using the new colours 2016 - 2018 he has created the following cards.

The idea was for each card to be one colour combination but with Nathans independent artistic flare he has demonstrated how well these new colour combinations actually compliment one another.

The items used to create these cards are Balloon Celebration stamp set, balloon bouquet punch and the new in color collection 2016-2018 dapper denim, emerald envy, flirty flamingo, peekaboo peach and sweet sugarplum.

I do promise my University course is finished in July so heres hoping next month I will not be giving any excuse and will have many more items to choose from.

Thank you for visiting my blog hop below you can continue on to the talented Jems.

Here Goes

What a week!

I have been back at University this week and kept being given homework so have had to have a last minute attempt.
Please please excuse my poor excuse of a post.....I actually craft with my son Nathan.
We have chosen a Have a Cuppa as our retired items to show case. We love these combinations as they represent to me why I joined Stampin Up Nathan loves to craft and drink tea. So we created Nathan's Craft & Tearoom in September 2014 to give Nathan supported employment as he has additional needs. I later joined Stampin Up to add quality to our crafting, added bonus is I have meet some wonderful people in the process.

This is Nathan

This is our card creation using the 'Have a Cuppa DSP' and the cups and kettle framelits dies.

Nathan's Tea cosy with our creation.

We started because of a 'Big Shot' Nathan loves using his and will cut out as many shapes as with need. Due to his visual impairment the magnet platform is fantastic as it keeps the dies in place.

Nathan using his Big shot.

I also used the A Nice Cuppa stamp set to create my SAB team swaps earlier this year.

Thank you for reading my first blog hop...as you can see they can only get better.

Bye for now.
